Hitachi showing interest in developing Andhra ports.

Japanese multinational company Hitachi has shown interest in developing ports in Andhra Pradesh.Hitachi vice president 'Akira Shimizu' said that land acquisition and taxation are the two challenges faced by Japanese firms in India. It also helps in building smart cities across AP.

Japan to Support for building AP Capital.

Japan will extend full cooperation to the new state of Andhra Pradesh in its development and also in building the capital city.Hitachi officials were quoted as saying that the company is interested in developing infrastructure (ports) in Andhra Pradesh but needed good connectivity and incentives.AP has invited Hitachi too to be part of building AP's capital city and requested the company to study the capital city plan and also set up an office in the State.

The first phase of "People's Capital" would come up in 30,000 acres in the two Mandals. The committee identified 17 villages - 14 villages in Tullur and 3 villages- of Guntur district. The most of the villages that are identified are located on the banks of river Krishna.

Andhra Pradesh govt to create Capital Region Development Fund with Rs 1,000 crore seed capital.

In the CRDA draft Bill, the government said it will create a Revolving Fund for the Authority with Rs 250 crore so that it can carry out its work under this Act and for undertaking development of amenities and infrastructure facilities in the development area. The financial expenditure for CRDA would be Rs 1,250 crore initially.

Farmers and landowners will be given 1,000 square yards of developed plot for every acre they surrender, and it will be 750 sq. yards for those enjoying holding lands.

The government will spend up to Rs 1 crore on development of each acre in the capital. Tenant farmers and agricultural laborers will be given skilled development training and provided with employment.

Three new suspension (metal cable) bridges on the river Krishna will be constructed to connect Krishna and Guntur districts. “No pillars like regular bridges will be erected and there will be no delay in construction of these bridges.

With six-lane roads and garden spread across 20-km stretch, new capital AP is expected to be the greenest city. CM Naidu is adamant that the capital city should be ultramodern boasting skyscrapers, several huge parks and fountains. We hear that the blueprint has 44-storey Secretariat complex which is included on Naidu's insistence.

Chandrababu announces boundaries of AP capital!

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has announced the boundaries of the upcoming state capital. The capital will be towards the East of Autonagar, Guntur in 10.5 Kilometers from Prakasam Barage. And towards the west, it will be extending from Borupalem to Prakasam Barage. And in South, the Capital will stretch from Autonagar ‘Y’ junction to 16 Kilometers alongside 75 Kilometers of Ring Road.

Date set for Stone Breaking Ceremony of AP Capital!

Andhra Pradesh government is planning the stone breaking ceremony of Andhra Pradesh’s new capital before June 2nd, 2015. The ceremony will be held on coming Ugadi day on 21st March and May 28th NTR’s Jayanthi will be the fall back option.
Government is planning to complete the entire land pooling exercise by March next year and the development of the collected land is expected to take nine months to one year after the stone breaking ceremony. It is also revealed that the participation of Singapore government in the capital building is also more or less confirmed and an MOU will be signed between both the governments very soon.

Capital land pooling: Disadvantage farmers?

The AP government's proposal to give just 1000 sq yard per acre of developed land to farmers under the land pooling system for building capital city has come in for sharp criticism. The government's plan to build the new capital city on the banks of the river in Guntur district, has created ripples among the farmers in villages abutting the right bank of the river Krishna.

According to government proposal, about 50 percent of the land (2400 sq yards per acre) would be set aside for creation of community spaces, roads, drains and convention centres. Out of the remaining 2,400 sq yards, farmers will get 1,000 sq yards while government will keep 1,400 sq yards.
