Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Friday said the first phase of the capital city in Guntur district would be completed by 2019. Talking to the national media on the eve of his completion of six months in office, he said residential, commercial and government offices would be ready by 2019. He said Andhra Pradesh would be among the top three States in the country by 2022 and the leading the State by 2029.
He said the Centre had promised help in building the capital and the State government would have to prepare and submit master plan. He recalled that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had also promised funding for the capital.
He said the Singapore government was preparing the master plan and Second Minister S. Iswaran would be coming here for discussions on December 8. Japan also evinced interest in extending help for capital construction.
